The 2016 Summer Reading Club program runs from 01 December 2016 to 31 January 2017.

Participation in the Australian Summer Reading Club allows children and young people to develop a sense of community with other children across the country. No matter where they are during the summer holidays, it is envisioned that children and young people will be able to participate in activities aligned to the annual programming theme, discover great Australian authors and illustrators, and share their voice by engaging in literary and creative activities, both online and in libraries.  Visit the library and unleash your imagination with a great selection of books chosen especially for the reading challenge.  There are heaps of games and activities to entertain and the opportunity for participants to win great prizes.

If you are not in town during the holidays, this summer’s Online Club is packed full of fun. There are lots of ways to get involved and lots of prizes to win. The online competitions are open from 1 December 2016 to 31 January 2017. Unleash your imagination by blogging with Leigh Hobbs and Deborah Abela, or by crafting a story ending to Mick Elliot’s What Happens Next story starter, or by completing the online quiz., or by posting book raves and artwork.
