Creations from the man cave encourages people to become interested in art and the use of recycling materials.  Neil Elliott’s prime objective when making art is to explore, have fun, and to promote the recycling message all at the same time. The artist teaches skills associated with recycling, up-cycling and re-purposing to help people feel empowered to create their own art.  Finding inspiration from found objects Neil gives them a new lease on life – reimagining the everyday to reflect happiness and positive experiences. He also draws inspiration from history and engineering but his imagination is reflected in the fun and somewhat cheeky artworks presented in the exhibition.

“By constantly experimenting and introducing new mediums I am able to maintain passion and excitement towards my work.” – Neil Elliott, artist Creations from the man cave.

A Perth hills based painter and sculptor, his fun and whimsical flavour has transposed from his paintings to quirky sculptures in Creations from the man cave. Early on in Neil’s sculpture career he liked to sketch and plan his artworks, but later moved to a more organic process allowing the shape and texture of the materials to dictate the artwork.

The strong message of recycling has many environmental advantages, as well as social outcomes. This message is connected through the exhibition, workshop program and Smarter than Smoking Education programs to activate and bring communities together in a fun, creative and positive environment with productive results. Start the journey to reimagine your perspective of found objects and recycling and engage with Creations from the man cave.
